Salkantay - inca trail - machu picchu trekking [7 days/6 nights]

DETAIL OF THE CUSCO TREKKING CIRCUIT - SAYLLAPATA (DAY 1).

The tour begins with the departure from the Cusco city at 07:00 a.m. through the Pampa de Anta, Limatambo presenting an agricultural valley with corn plantations, potatoes, vegetables and fruit trees. Around 09:00 a.m. we arrive in Tarawasi (2380 masl) to visit this archaeological complex, and then continue in direction to Mollepata (2850 masl) where we arrive around 10:30 a.m., this place will have the meeting with our carriers and begin our walk to Sayllapata (3470 masl). First camp (Bus 3 hours - 4 hours walk).

DETAIL SAYLLAPATA - ICHUPAMPA (DAY 2).

From our camp at Sayllapata we can see the Umantay snow-covered mountain and part of Mollepata Valley. During the tour we pass through the hamlets of Onqopata, Cheqchekancha, Challakancha, Soraypampa and Salkantay Pampa, to then ascend to the Ichupampa camp (4300 masl).

DETAIL ICHUPAMPA - PAMPAQAHUANA (DAY 3).

From Ichupampa Ascend slowly on average 2 hours going through the point higher than that of Inkachiriasqa (4,800 masl), with a beautiful view of glacier lakes of different colors. Then we descend a path in the form of zig-zac until arriving at the community of Pampaqawana (4000 masl) where we will have the opportunity to observe The Inca Canal located in the plain.

DETAIL PAMPAQAWANA - WAYLLABAMBA (DAY 4).

In Pampaqawana we will continue descending to where because we find human settlements, farmland, presence of animals, we leave grasslands of Paja Brava and ichu, in turn will see shrubs, bamboos, trees, orchids and one variety of birds. Will also visit the tour the archaeological site of Paukarkancha which comes to be a Tambo, is a place of relaxation and warehouse. Being approximately 03:00 p.m. arrive to the Wayllabamba camp (3000 masl).

DETAIL WAYLLABAMBA – PAKAYMAYU (DAY 5).

At 06:00 a.m. we will have a wake-up tea, then the time needed to enlist our things and the breakfast will be at 07:00 a.m. approximately, the end begin to walk from the 3,000 meters above sea level to the top of the Warmiwanusqa step "woman dead" (4, 200 masl). During the tour we will have the opportunity to see some typical plants of the area such as orchids and birds, given that we will go into a cloud forest to then continue in direction to the scrublands (presence of cold and fog). Around noon we will be in place and we can rest a moment to enjoy the panoramic view that is presented. In 5 minutes we will descend to the place where we will have lunch then continue with direction to our camp of Pakaymayu.

DETAIL PAKAYMAYU - WIÑAY WAYNA (DAY 6).

After two days of long walks, this day will be clearly marked by a spiritual character as we will visit archaeological sites complementing the tour with different landscapes. The second step of the way is Runturaqay (3, 990 masl) in where we can see the two chains of mountains, the Urubamba and the Vilcabamba that are part of the Los Andes mountain range. To be about 04:00 p.m. will arrive at Wiñaywayna camp.

DETAIL WIÑAYWAYNA - MACHUPIKCHU - CUSCO (DAY 7).

This day depart very early (around 05:00 a.m.) with the goal of being in the Puerta del Sol in the early morning and we can receive the welcome of Machu Picchu, it will be the right time to take spectacular photos. From this place we will have the first sight of the Inca city and an hour later will put end to this wonderful show, enjoying one of the Wonders of the world, the guide will explain the benefits of this place as well as visit the most representative places of the sacred place of our ancestors.

URUBAMBA MOUNTAIN RANGE

  • The Urubamba mountain range is a mountainous alignment of the Peru located in the Cusco Department. It is part of the Oriental mountain range of the Andes and is situated on the right of the Urubamba river. The mountain range extends in a West-East direction along about 75 km, with a coverage of 41 square kilometers of glaciers. It reaches its highest altitude in the Sahuasiray, with 5.818 meters above sea level, followed by the Verónica snow-covered mountain with 5.682 masl.

VILCABAMBA MOUNTAIN RANGE

  • The Vilcabamba mountain range is a spectacular mountain range that is located between the regions of Cusco and Apurimac. And it is a major tourist attraction not only for the beauty of the landscape which exhibits but also for the historical value, in relation to the Inca world, presenting.
